These terms and this privacy policy apply to time.bi ("Time.bi", "we", "us"). By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Terms of use

1. The service

Time.bi is a free website with clocks, time zone information, sunrise and sunset times, moon data, weather, public holidays, calendars, countdowns, timers and related tools. There are no user accounts and nothing to buy.

2. Accuracy

We work to keep the information correct, but it is provided "as is", without any warranty.

Times depend on the IANA time zone database and on each government's rules, which can change at short notice.
Sunrise, sunset and moon times are calculated for each city's coordinates and can differ from what you see locally because of terrain, weather and atmospheric conditions.
Some holiday dates, especially those that depend on sighting the moon, are estimates until they are officially announced.

Do not rely on Time.bi alone for anything where a wrong time or date could cause harm or loss, such as travel connections, legal deadlines, medical schedules or safety decisions. Check with the official source.

3. Acceptable use

You may use the site for personal and business purposes. You must not:

break the law while using it
try to disrupt the site, get around its security, or overload it, including with automated scraping at a rate that affects other visitors
copy large parts of the site's content to republish elsewhere

4. Clock widgets

You may embed the free clock widgets on your own website using the code we provide. Please keep the widget code as supplied. We may change or discontinue widgets at any time.

5. Links to other websites

Time.bi links to other websites, including official sources. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.

6. Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Time.bi is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site or from reliance on its information, including missed appointments, lost data or lost profit. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.

7. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Privacy policy

1. What we collect

When you visit a page, our servers and our content delivery network receive the technical details every website receives: your IP address, browser and device type, the page you asked for, the referring page and the time. These are kept in server logs for security and troubleshooting.

Your approximate location. To show your local time, the site estimates your city or country from your IP address, using a location database on our own servers. We do not ask for your precise location.

Settings stored in your browser. The timer, multi-timer, alarm and stopwatch save your settings in your own browser (local storage) so they are still there next time. This stays on your device; you can clear it through your browser settings.

Event planner links. When you create an event with the event planner, the details you enter (event name, place, date and time) are written into the link it creates. Anyone you share that link with can see them.

Emails you send us. If you write to us, we keep your message and address to reply.

We do not ask for or collect names, passwords or payment details, and we do not sell personal information.

2. Analytics

We use Clicky to count visits and see which pages are used, so we can improve the site. Clicky may use cookies for this. See Clicky's privacy policy.

3. Advertising

Time.bi shows ads through Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services, and turn off personalised advertising in Google's ad settings.

4. Cookies

Time.bi itself does not need cookies to work. The cookies you may see come from the analytics and advertising services above. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.

5. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, and to have it corrected or deleted. Email us at the address below. Because there are no accounts, the main personal data we hold is in server logs and in any emails you have sent us.

6. Children

Time.bi is a general-audience website and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
